Description
A pale lilac purple cotton nightgown, cut long in a Victorian shape, with lace at the square neck and a flounce that sits at the ankle.
The straps are sleeveless, with fine pintucks where they meet the shoulder. Lace edges the square neck and fills the panel across the chest. Five small buttons close a short centre-front placket, and the top ones undo so the neckline can be opened for nursing. From the back, the neck is the same lace-trimmed square, with a yoke and soft gathering below it. A stitched band sits above a gathered flounce, and on the model the hem ends at the ankle rather than trailing on the floor. The cotton is lightweight and woven, comfortable for sleep and for time around the house.
